Biography

She was born on 19 Sep 1883 in Virginia and her parents were Frances Eudora (Carden) and Edward "Ned" Roboteau Andrews.

She earned her degree from Marshall Coillege and was a school teacher.

(Mary) Chestine or Chestina Andrews married in 1904 to Christian Webb Welty. ^[1]

In 1906 their 6 months old child died. ^{[2] [3]}

In early 1915 her mother died. ^[4]

She gave birth to a son in the summer of 1915. ^[5]

In 1920 she was unable to visit her ailing brother. ^[6]

In 1928 her family travelled abroad. ^[7]

She died on 20 Jan 1966 in Mississippi ^[8] and was buried at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, USA. ^[9]
