My To-Do List and Family Brickwalls

Collection of Images, etc.

Flag of Virginia
Native Virginian

I look forward to working with other members of WikiTree and both expanding and sharing my knowledge of my family's history. I certainly agree with the mission of WikiTree, and hope that any information I have to share will lead me to distant cousins I've yet to meet.

I am mainly focusing on the ANGE family of Martin County, North Carolina for starters; but also have information to share on the KITCHEN and ADAMS families of Fairfax County, Virginia; the STOVALL and KELLY families of Missouri; and the BULLOCK, ALTMAN, and MODLIN families of (eventually) Kansas.

The surnames of my great-great-grandparents, if anyone would like to collaborate with any families: Adams, Altman, Ange, Bullock, Edwards, Erwin, Griffin, Kelly, Kitchen, Modlin, Osborn, Prather, Roberson, Salmon, Steelman, & Stovall.

I am also interested in the Lanier and Peele families of Virginia and North Carolina, which are a few generations farther back in my family tree, and their descendants. Lately, I have been trying to clean up members of the West family of Stafford/Fairfax/Loudon Counties in Northern Virginia, but I also tend to run off on tangents when I find a new immigrant ancestor and try to tidy up multiple lines of descendants.

Occasionally, in my free time, I like to toy around with creating new descendant stickers that I can line up on a profile...

Lineage Societies

Assuming WikiTree is accurate, and I am able to supply all the necessary paperwork and dues, I believe I am eligible for for membership in the following organizations. If anyone is a member of one of these lineage societies and would be willing to assist me in the membership process, please contact me.

James Forte
Puritan Great Migration
New Netherland Seal
The Prince's Flag
Early Pennsylvania Settlers
Huguenot Descendant
Descendant of Thomas Dupree, an early Huguenot emigrant to Manakintown, Virginia.
ARW Veteran
Confederate Veteran
Descendant of Charles Wesley Adams, a Confederate Veteran of the War Between the States.
Union Veteran
Descendant of Theodore Altman, a Union Veteran of the War Between the States.

Hi Daniel,

I sent you a message a week ago to let you know about the exciting changes in the US Southern Colonies Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have no yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project? If so, which team(s) would you like to be on and please can you private message me with your e-mail address so I can get you added to the project’s Google Group?

If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’d be most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best wishes,

Susie - US Southern Colonies Co-Leader

Hi Daniel,

As you will have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the US Southern Colonies Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. We have also changed the criteria for membership. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know whether you would like to remain in the project and, if so, which team(s) you would like to be in.

Please can you also send me your e-mail address. I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders and are in the Google Group.

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the US Southern Colonies Project that you respond to these check-ins. We’re really excited for the future of the project and hope that you decide to be a part of it with us moving forwards.

Many thanks,

Susie, US Southern Colonies Project Co-Leader

Hi Daniel

Thank you so much for responding to our check-in. We are delighted that you wish to continue contributing to the Southern Pioneers. Below is a quick checklist for active members.

1) Check the Southern_Pioneers Project for ways to contribute. (It is the subproject).

2) You have the Southern_Colonies, TAG to the tags you follow.

3) PM the project leader, Paula J. with your email address to be added to the Southern Colonies Google Group.

Please try Sticker on profiles to show your roots.

Thank you!

Mary ~ Volunteer Coordinator

Hi Daniel,

On behalf of the US Southern Colonies Project Leaders, I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see if you were Active in US Southern Colonies?

1) Have you joined other Southern Colonies Subprojects, such as Southern_Pioneers Project. Or other projects?

2) Your activity in Southern Pioneers Project. Do you want to retain the Southern Colonies badge?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Daniel,

I was looking on the Eads/Eades proposal that you proposed. How should we go about resolving the spelling difference?

Hi Daniel

The Arborists Project is currently making some changes, starting with a change of the Arborists Project Google Group. The link to request to join the new group is on the Arborists Project page. Alternatively, if you send me your preferred email address for google groups, I can send you an invitation to join. Thanks for being part of the Arborists. Sarah and I look forward to you being involved as the Project moves forward. Gillian, co-Leader, Arborists Project

Hi Daniel, I adopted Robert Singleton - the profile was a MESS and probably a mash up of THREE different Robert Singletons only one (at this date anyway) marries Ann Southworth and whom was the illegitimate son of William which was the data already there BUT originally the profile was linked to Williams wife - If you look at the one you are suggesting I merge the Robert I adopted to, then who is the William mentioned in Roberts profile and who is Margaret Ann and why the link to Poulton-le-Fylde maybe it his the SAME guy but maybe not SINGLETONS were based in Poulton le Fylde, Singleton(of course) Broughton, Staining etc both the Singletons and Southworths were known papists so again it is possible that Two different Singletons marry to different Southworths maybe WILLIAM marries MARGARET

Hi again! I jumped the gun... The Template Project leader requested a change. To use completely your own text, the variable is |fulltext=

Using just "|text=" adds {Name} before whatever you enter. Sorry about that!

See the Virginia Sticker template page for details.

Cheers, Liz

Hi! I posted a reply on Harrison-212.

To join the Magna Carta Project and/or the Virginia Project, see their G2G join posts at https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/534593/ & https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/642123/ (respectively).

If you'd like to be a manager of Harrison-212, send a trusted list request from his profile saying you would & I'll "make it so" (WikiTree's RF says Burr is your 11x-gr-grand & my 8x-gr-grand).

Cheers, "cousin" Liz - RF says we're 8th cousins three times removed through Thomas Harrison, but my connection is a bit tenuous (I'm still looking for primary proof that "my" Robert Peyton's mother was Frances Harrison).

Hi! We have a Virginia Sticker now. You can replace the Nonmigrating Ancestor sticker with it... e.g., {Virginia Sticker|text=Native of Virginia.}} (add an extra { at the beginning).
