I noticed that you have set Wydeville-26 and Wydeville-59 as unmerged matches. Please make sure you have reviewed all the instructions associated with merging before you take further action on merges. In this case, please see Unmerged Matches in particular. Also, take a look at What if the data does not exactly match.

Please review Collaboration as it is the first rule of our Honor Code

As these profiles are Pre-1500, please read through Pre-1500 Working without a Badge.

If you are not sure what to do with a merge, please make sure to ask.

Thank you,

Has nothing to do with me, Laura. I haven't been around much due to other problems. Here is the name of the chap who is the Project Manager - Carleton Procter. Perhaps he knows what is happening. Sorry I could not be of help.
You are correct, and I made a mistake. Thankfully, they have been merged now and I did see who set them as unmerged. I do appreciate your getting back to me and taking the time to look at it. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the year, and thank you again.

Thank you for you interest in volunteering as a member of the Magna Carta Project. As you may be aware the Magna Carta Project has two membership levels. Members at both levels research and improve Magna Carta lineages but have different participation requirements. Badged members concentrate on improving the relationship trails from Gateway Ancestors (approx 240 colonial immigrants with direct ancestral trails to one or more surety barons.) These Gateway Ancestors and their lineages are documented by genealogist. Douglas Richardson. Requirements include meeting project quality standards and acting as Guardian for an unassigned Gateway Ancestor. On the other hand, Affiliate members do not have participation requirements or timeframes to meet making this level ideal for the member that is new to Pre-1700 and Pre-1500 genealogy. Also, it's ideal for a member that prefers to work at a more relaxed pace. Many affiliate members are interested in uncovering their own direct connections to a surety baron as opposed to working the trails that extend from the Gateway Ancestor to surety baron. So,if your interest is in researching your own personal Magna Carta lineage at a relaxed pace, then Affiliate membership is probably the way to go. If, on the other hand, you love medieval genealogy, a structured research environment, meeting high verification and documentation standards, and don't mind working within timeframes then the badged membership level may suit your interest level. At both levels the work is often challenging but rewarding.

For more information please see, Magna Carta Membership requirements. Once you have decided which level is right for you contact me and I will get you started.

I would think the Affiliate level would be best for me, David, as I do not have the time to take on a lot, however, I really would like to use this as a tool to not only learn more about my Magna Carta sureties whom I'm related to and to also gain more experience as a genealogist. Thank you so much for your time and help. Looking forward to this!
I sent sign up information to you via private messaging. Welcome to the Magna Carta Projext !

Hi Anonymous,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
