Story of Jim Anger, by his sister Catherine Anger: Jim was very protective of his mother. He died in an motorcycle accident.
Jim (James) Anger was my brother. Most times I thought of him as my 2nd father and always as my friend.
Jim was 20 yrs old when he died, after a motorcycle accident. I was 13 yrs old at the time.
Jim always looked after everyone. He never let mother stay home alone. He would stay home with his mom rather than go out and leave her alone.
He was our family protector. He was always around when we needed him.
He would let me tag along with him and his friends.
Notes:
Jim was always an honor student. His goal was to be a teacher (now I know why he tried to teach me French. I did learn some). He would have made an awesome teacher.
In June, 1957, Jim was critically injured while riding Dad's motorcycle with his friend.
He and his friend, Claude Bell, were going to a concert in Hamilton, Ontario. A motorcycle expert told mom & dad that Jim was a passenger and that the motorcycle had been hit from behind.
The night of the accident, mother would not go to sleep until she heard Jim return home. During the night she was certain he had returned home as she heard one of the stair steps squeak.
At 5am a call came in. Jim was in the Hamilton Hospital and was being prepped for brain surgery.
Mom, Dad & I drove to Hamilton. The surgery had already been preformed. He had several holes drilled in his head to allow for the brain swelling. All of his wavy hair had been shaved off and a bandage took its place.
His friend had a broken arm and was recovering without any further complications.
I sat beside Jim and felt lost.
The Surgeon told mother that the information, given by Jim's friend was, "his parents are on holidays and can't be reached for 2 weeks".
We never found out why this incorrect information was given.
Claude died of cancer at about age 75.
I miss my brother always. My memories of him never fade. Jim would have been 77 yrs old today.
Fondly remembered, Sadly missed.
Love sister Cathy (Anger) Lovelock
