Jacob is the son of Nicholas & Elizabeth Angler, both born in France They probably came to the US between 1838 and 1839.

NOTE: Jacob's date of birth is uncertain. The 1850 US census places his birth as 1836, the 1860 as is 1827, the 1870 as 1835, the 1880 census as 1824, and his record of death as 1828. Since I have no way of knowing which is correct I split the difference and placed it in the middle as uncertain. His death record also records his place of birth as Germany but I believe that to be wrong as everything else lists it as France, and his parents are both from France.
