Biography

John was aged about 26 when he was convicted in Limerick on 12 July 1837 of manslaughter of James Fitzgerald.[1] John's sentence was seven years transportation but this was commuted to two years imprisonment.[2]

Points for Further Research

It seems possible that this is the same John Anguish who married Mary McMahon at St Michaels' Church in Limerick in November 1857 or, alternatively, it is a male son or relative.[3]
