Franklin L. "Frank" Ankrum 81 of Wintersville, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Trinity West. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio on June 15, 1921 a son of the late Frederick and Mina Quarterman Ankrum. He was a member of Kolmont Church, Mingo Junction, Ohio and Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. Frank was a National Steel retiree having worked in the 54 Inch Mill Pipe Shop. He was preceded in death by three brothers his twin Frederick, Robert and Ross Ankrum and six sisters Helen Ehaz, Ruth Mehling, Frances Foster, Marguerite Ochsendorf, Mildred Gorman and Lillian Ankrum. Frank is survived by his wife Izetta L. Bailey Ankrum whom he married on July 25, 1952; three sons Larry (Jennifer) Wright and Richard (Anita) Ankrum both of Wintersville, and P. Dean (Erin) Ankrum of Wellsburg, WV; six grandchildren Derek Franklin Ankrum, Elizabeth Wright, Rebecca (Jason) Yanni, Sabrina Ankrum, Brittany Ankrum and Darci Ankrum; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Sam Retzer officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to Kolmont Church.
