Mildred Corrine Ankrum Cassell passed away 23 July 2010 after an accidental fall where she lived at an assisted living home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born 25 September 1925 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the tenth child of David Harrison and Nellie Mae Elliott Ankrum. The family moved from Idaho Falls to Salmon in 1927 and settled on Sandy Creek where she attended school in the Sandy Creek one-room school. After the eighth grade she lived at home and worked at the Salmon Laundry, waited tables at the Mint Cafe and worked for Vic's Grocery. She attended Groom's Beauty School in idaho Falls, graduating in April of 1946. After finishing Beauty School, she went to work for Lucille Benson in Salmon. She married Herndon John Cassell on 14 September 1946 in Hamilton, Montana. Herndon was in the Air Sea Rescue from 15 January 1942 until 20 January 1947. They lived in Salmon, Cobalt, Wyoming, Moab, Utah, Tucson, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked as a beautician and Herndon worked in mines and construction. After they retired they bought a motor home and traveled throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Ruth Marie, William Wesley, Carl David, Niel Allen, Noel Cleo, Glenn Harris, Thelma May, Bertha Amelia, Raymond Keith and Harold Dean. Graveside services were held 25 September at the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of the Jones & Casey Funeral Home.
