Online death records list his age as 88, parents and place of death.
In 1944 he married Isabella Patterson (nee Simpson) in Albany. It was her second marriage and she was 25 years younger than him. She had two children from her first marriage.
They had five children including Robert Charles and Winifred Isobell.
He is buried in Cranbrook Cemetery.
