Hi XX ANON, I see that you have been a member since 2012. There have been some changes on WikiTree since then, for example with the creation of more projects. Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project ? Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful.

Also, I see that you have created some duplicates today. Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eigtheenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources. A few handy links:

(In Afrikaans) - in Suid-Afrika, Nederland en elders word die tussenvoegsel in vanne met klein letters gespel, tensy dit anders op die primêre rekords gespel word, byvoorbeeld van der Merwe, van der Walt, van den Berg, du Preez, de Villiers ens. Die vanne wat aangemaak word met tussenvoegsels in hoofletters (dit gebeur automaties in WikiTree) , kan jy regmaak deur dit in “edit” mode te verander in 'n van met klein tussenvoegsels (met as rede aangee dat dit die konvensie is vir Afrikaanse vanne), en dan weer te “save”.

Thanks for your hard work on WikiTree. I look forward to seeing if our ancestors cross paths. Can you tell me what sort of sources you mainly use the information on the profiles you have created? We have created a help page for WikiTreers and we are always looking for more sources to list there.

I will confirm you as a full member.

I uploaded a GEDCOM file when I joined but I will be a long time editing the sourcing that uploaded. Starting from scratch will mean you don't get errors uploaded from the start which if you have a big file you may never get round to noticing.

I have a particular interest in sharing information regarding genealogical research in London, England and also in South Africa.

I have been carrying out my genealogical research for about 20 years and am pleased to find an internet site on which I can not only record and preserve my findings, but also share the information willingly with others.
