Great to meet you in the recent connection challenge and many thanks for the pointer to Jamie's photo page. I have started one for Carol, all I have to do now is scan them in, upload them and document what I know. And I still have 80k of April profiles to tidy up as well as all my July ones. That'll keep me busy for a while.

Have fun.

Hello Liz!

I’m conducting the 6-month check in for the US Black Heritage Project. Because we are growing so fast, it’s not always possible for me to see what everyone’s working on.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been working on and if you are still happy being a part of the Profile Improvement Team. Members can change teams at any time. If you need something to work on, we now have a master task list here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Black_Heritage_Project_Tasklist

We now have a project badge! Hooray! As soon as I hear back from you that you’d like to continue with the project, I will add the badge to your profile.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Emma

Hi Emma! I'd love to still be a part of the team - unfortunately I'm working with a lot more time constraints due to a job I've picked up since the last check-in, but I'm still reading emails and would love to continue to work on profiles, specifically as a non-participating member of the connecting challenges - I love connecting, but don't really think that I can commit to a full challenge right now without knowing my day to day schedule. :)

It's totally okay if you can't full on work on something. The requirements for projects is members should have some activity in a 6-month period. This gives you room to be active during some periods and nonactive during others in that time frame. 'Cause life happens. It would be great if you could work on profiles as you have time. Thanks! Emma
Hello, Liz!

Thanks for all the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree. You have every right to be pleased with your efforts!

Kind regards,

Catherine, I am so sorry I didnt respond to this before! That is so interesting! I will have to do some research on Richard Buckner. It looks like with the improved connection finder we are only 20 steps away at the closest, since we seem to be related sideways through a couple marriages.

Your welcome, Liz. It was my honor. Actually, it wasn't officially my duty to do this, but I took it upon myself as a new "Tree Hugger" in the Appreciation Team to try to come up with a project where I could make an impact by doing something other than just thanking people at random. So, I started thinking "outside the box" about how I could come up with a unique way to thank our devoted Wikitreers such as yourself. So, I decided I wanted to make sure everybody got their trophy badges before the next marathon started, especially since they were months behind in getting the winner badges issued. Last year in 2019, the winners were issued their badges right away within a week. As I understand it, it turns out, there were a few acceptable reasons for the delay. Anyway, this is going to be my first marathon. So, wish me luck because it looks like I have some healthy competition out there from spectacular Wikitreers such as yourself. I want to wish you continued success and good luck!

Hi Cousin Liz!

Thanks for the "Heads Up" on JonBenet Ramsey's photos & the copyright issue. I honestly don't know the copyright status of any of the pictures. I would probably take down the one of her smiling in the sailor suit and the beauty queen photo. It's pretty common to use gravestone photos and the one of JonBenet and her brother looks like a family picture. Unless you know something I don't, I'd probably elect to keep those two photos in the interest of having some kind of illustration on the profile. Since I can't seem to remember how to take the pictures down, you can feel free to do so with my blessing. Otherwise, I'll have to research the procedure when back from Dr.'s appointments, etc.
