My biological birth name is Carol Jean Bourke. I was adopted and my adopted name is Carol Jean Merrifield and I have been married three times, so I need to add Bobo Heimbuch and Pierson to the mix. Unfortunately, my records are under all of the following names. I have had an account with Wiki tree before under Bourke-962 and my family members are still listed. Over the years I have found more records and some of the information needs to be changed and I will try to figure out how to reattach them to this tree. I am interested in finding more relatives, breaking through brick walls, and verifying DNA recommendations. I have had DNA tests done by Ancestry, My Heritage, and a mtDNA through CRI Genetics and FTDNA. In addition, I am also listed with Gedmatch #HE912851C1.
The biography for Carol Bourke Merrifield is empty. What can you add?

You have questions about the spelling of my ancestor, who I am not sure is the ancestor of your duchoquette, since there is a difference in the spelling of the surname: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/120974841/francois_duchouquette
But thanks to all of you for the welcome.
T.D. has only just joined the WikiTree family and may be unsure about what merging is all about. It is necessary if we want one profile per unique person. Managers don't "own" the profile (except the private ones) so if the profile is "open" that means that the person it represents has been long deceased.
Continue to improve either of the profiles that are to be merged. No one can merge until T.D. gives his approval, OR after 30 days, if he doesn't then the merge will go into default approved and anyone can merge it. By "cleaning up" both profiles and adding sources, it will make the "clean-up" post merge much easier.
It is wonderful to have an actual descendant, who has sources to add to work on the profile. I have added sources to my ancestor's profiles that are not available on-line or found in a book. Like you, I had the President of the St Louis Historical Society research my ancestors. Go ahead and add that reference to the comments that you post from information given to you in Prairie du Chien. btw, I have ancestors there and have attended family reunions there. When you get all your ancestors added, do a relationship search to see if we are related. jan
Dana has not been very active, however she did add DNA info in January of this year, so she hasn't quit WikiTree. For my own part, I have no qualms about adding sourced material for anyone who died almost two hundred years ago! I say help her out. If ever someone doesn't like what you have provided, they can always use the "restore" feature on the changes page. And the information that you provided will remain in the audit trail in the changes page, as well.

To Volunteer just add any surnames of interest into Tags so that you have one tag for each surname and location. By doing that, when you are confirmed as a full member you can then click on those tags, and you'll be taken to a page where you'll see other genealogists who are also following those surnames and locations. I really encourage you to explore the connections it helps you make. :-)
Don't forget to Check the Volunteer Box
Also Note There is a button to click at the bottom of the page that says Add tags and Volunteer. It is rectangular.
When you have done that one of our Greeters will confirm you as a full member so that you can Edit your Profile and enter information into WikiTree.
Just a note to say hi and to let you know that I'm available to answer questions about WikiTree. You can contact me by clicking the link to my name, then sending a private message or posting a comment on my profile page.
