Records of Pastoral Acts ...Christ Lutheran Church, Strouchsburg, PA states Johannes Adam Anspach is the surviving single son of our former elder, Johannes Anspach and Barbara Borrau, single daughter of Henrich Borrau.


Per MAS, John Jacob married Mary Elizabeth Spohn first and her sister Sarah Spohn second. Sponsors at his baptism were Jacob and Anna E. Anspach. John Jacob moved to Ohio with his parents around 1804. In the 1830 census of Thorn Twp., Perry Co., OH, he is listed with 7 sons and 2 daughters. He is also listed in tax lists there in 1829 and 1840. He attended the German Reformed Church near Basil, OH. He was executor with his brother Christian of his father's will, from which he inherited 173 acres of land in Thorn Twp. John Jacob and his two wives are buried in New Reading Cemetery, Perry Co. OH.

Info from Joyce Scheider in Austin, TX indicates his wife was Mary Elizabeth Spohn. Joe indicates a different wife. Maybe second wife? (John did have two wives.).
