Biography

Iva was born in 1893. She was the daughter of Stephen Anstee and Ann James.^[1] After her mother’s death, she lived with her father, stepmother and sister in St Catharines, Lincoln, Ontario in 1901.^[2] They lived in St Catharines in 1911.^[3]

Iva married Philip Cort on 29 Oct 1914 in St Catharines, Lincoln, Ontario.^[4] They travelled to Buffalo, New York in 1915. Iva was five months pregnant at the time.^[5] They had two children, including:

• Ivea Hazel Cort - born 1915 - a stillborn daughter ^[6]
• Janet Edith Cort - born/died 1918 - premature birth^[7]
