Biography

Johan Jürg Anstein was born around 1729, in Alsace, , Baden-Wuerttemberg, Deutschland. Have seen several birth years from 1729-1737. The 1729 comes from an international marriage document references below.

Arrived in Philadelphia 1751 on the “Neptune” from Rotterdam. Fled to Canada to avoid conscription in the British army. Returned to buy 315 acres in Windsor from Christian Sailor in 1782.[1]

Johan (18) married Catharina Bürger (9) on October 8, 1753 in Pennsylvania.[2] Their children were:

Johan died about May 30, 1816, in Shrewsbury, York, Pennsylvania, United States, aged about 81.[3]
