Biography

James Richard Anthony was born on 19 Feb 1858 in Fayette County, Alabama. His parents were William Pickens Anthony (1832 - 1904) and Mary Polly (Logan) Anthony (1829 - 1899).

When he was about twelve years old, he was going to school and working on a farm. It could have been the family's farm or one of the farms nearby. The 1870 Census calls the area where the Anthony family is living Township 14, Range 23, Fayette County, Alabama.[2] Along with James, the family members listed in the household were:

According to the 1900 Census, James married Tsaiah Augusta Perkins (~1862 - ) in 1881.[4] The marriage would have taken place near their homes in Fayette County, Alabama.

In 1900, James and Tsaiah were living in Brown, Fayette County, Alabama. James was farming.[5] The family listed on the Census that year were:

James died on 10 Feb 1918 aged 59.[7] He was laid to rest in the Hubbertville Church of Christ Cemetery, Hubbertville, Fayette County, Alabama.[8]
