Obituary

REV. C. A. ANTHONY PASSED AWAY FRIDAY MORNING AT HIS HOME, WASHINGTON STREET, ATHENS.

Rev. C. A. Anthony, aged sixty-eight, died yesterday morning about 8:30, at his home, 235 Washington street, after a long illness.

The funeral party will leave the residence this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock for Winterville, where the funeral will be preached by Rev. Mr. Adams of Monroe, at the Methodist church at 8 o'clock.

Mr. Anthony, esteemed and respected as a Christian gentleman by all who knew him, is survived by his wife and by the following other relatives: Daughters, Mrs. Ruby Caldwell and Mrs. Lena Parr; sons, Mr. Attie Anthony and Mr. Chandler Anthony; brothers, Messrs. D. A. Anthony^[6] and W. C. Anthony^[7] of Winterville; a sister, Mrs. Robert Christian of Winterville.^[8]

We regret very much to hear of the death of Rev. Hammock Anthony and we extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sorrow for him.^[9]
