Catherine Grenfell Anthony was born on 9 Apr 1850 in St Ives, Cornwall, England to Nathaniel Anthony and Catherine (Grenfell) Anthony. Her birth was registered in Penzance, Cornwall in the second quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Grenfell.[1]
In 1851 Catherine Anthony (age 0) lived at Back Road in St Ives with her mother Catherine (27).[2] Catherine's father was not recorded on this census, but her mother's relationship to head of household is "wife" - he was most likely at sea.
In 1861 Catherine Anthony (age 10, Mariners Daughter) and her brother Charles J (5) were visitors at River Row in Illogan, Corwall.[3] Their mother Catherine (36, Sailors Wife Merchant Service) and two other siblings - Nathaniel (9) and Elizabeth (1) - were boarders at Norway Lane in St Ives.
In 1871 Catherine Anthony (age 20) lived in St Ives with her father Nathaniel (47, Fisherman), mother Catherine (48), and three siblings: Charles J (14, Fisherman), Elizabeth G (12, Scholar), and Mary H (3, Scholar).[4]
Catherine immigrated to the United States in March 1872.
She married Job Berriman in 1872. Job was a widower with children from his first marriage.

In 1900 Catherin Berriman (age 50) lived in Virden Township, Virden City, Macoupin County, Illnois with her husband Job (64, Retired Coal Miner) and four of their children: John (25, Coal Miner), Edmon C (22, Coal Miner), Nathaniel F (21, Coal Miner), and Mary (16).[5] Additional details according to this census: Catherine was born in April; Job & Catherine had been married 27 years; Catherine was the mother of 10 children, 8 of whom were still living; Catherine had been in the US 29 years (1871).
In 1910 Catherine Berryman (age 60) lived in Virden Ward 1 with her husband Job (74, Own Income) and three of their sons: John (35, Coal Miner), Charles (29, Coal Miner), and Frank (27, Coal Miner).[6] Additional details according to this census [some don't match other info]: Catherine & Job had been married 14 years [?]; Catherine was the mother of 12 children, 10 of whom were still living [?]; Job had been married twice, Catherine once; Catherine immigrated in 1871.
Catherine Berriman passed away on 14 Aug 1914, aged 64 years. She is buried at Virden Cemetery.[7]
"Mrs. Job Berriman Sr died at her home in this city Friday night, August 14 [1914], aged sixty-four years, four months and five days. The funeral service was held in the First Methodist Episcopal church Monday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F.B. WARD, and the interment was in the Virden cemetery. Mrs Catherine Berriman was born in St. Ives, Cornwall, England, April 9, 1850. She came to this country in March, 1872. She is survived by her husband, three sons and four daughters. The sons are John, Charles, and Frank Berriman and the daughters are Mrs. Joseph Fish, Mrs. George Graham, all of this city, and Mrs. Edward FISH of Springfield and Mrs. William ATKINSON of Fillmore, ILL. She is also survived by one step-son, Job BERRIMAN, Jr., of Virden, and one step-daughter, Mrs Hattie TAYLOR of Morristown, N.J. The deceased was a kind and loving mother."[8]
