Rhoda was born on 1 January 1830 in Ohio, to George Anthony and Mary Gandy. Her father was a Revolutionary war veteran.
Marriage and Family
On 18 Dec. 1846, Abram Thrush married Rhoda Anthony in Clark, Missouri.[1][2]
Just a little over three years later, the couple has three children and live on a farm in Lee, Iowa. [3]
Sometime around 1857 or 1858, the couple return to Missouri, where they gave birth to their fourth child. Roda picks up work as a domestic servant and Abraham works as a farmer. [4]
10 years later, the family has moved to a farm Douglas, Oregon and have three more children. Their daughter, Sarah, lives with them under her married name, as do two farmhands. [5]
In 1880, Rhoda lives with a "John Thrush," and her children. He is listed as her husband. When Rhoda and Abraham lived in Iowa, they had a John Thrush as a neighbor, and I believe he is Abraham's slightly older brother. [3] John had also moved to Oregon, but lived in Coos, Oregon and appeared on the 1870 Census with his wife, Elizabeth.
Death and Burial
On 17 November, 1898, Rhoda Anthony passed away in Camas Valley, Douglas, Oregon and is buried there in Thrush Cemetery.[6]
