Roscoe was born in 1912. He was the son of James Anthony and Phoebe Dunn. He passed away in 1974.
Roscoe Preston Anthony, 61, 2578 Elm Street, Halifax, died Tuesday.
Born in Kennetcook, Hants County, he was a son of the late James and Phoebe (Dunn) Anthony. He was an employee of the Canadian Postal Service for 30 years and served with the Canadian Postal Corps in the Second World War. At the time of his death, he was employed by Maritime Life Assurance Company.
Besides his wife, the former Anna Bent, he is survived by three sisters, Elsie (Mrs. W. E. Aitken), Truro; Louise (Mrs. Gordon MacPherson), Saskatoon, Sask.; Estelle (Mrs. J. B. Messenger), Moncton, N. B.; three brothers, Marsden, Kennetcook; Harris, Manchester, Conn. He was predeceased by a sister and a brother.
The body is at Halifax Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held in Church of the Nazarene, Henry Street, Dartmouth, Friday at 2 p.m., Rev. Anthony Sampson officiating. Burial will be in the Kennetcook United Church cemetery.
