Biography

James was born on 16 Apr 1782. His middle name said to be Monroe. He was the son of James & Nancy Ann (TATE) ANTHONY (Sr.).

James married first on 19 JUL 1804 in Wilkes County, Georgia to Elizabeth Catherine "Betsy" BLAKEY, and was the father of at least nine children by her. [1]

It was said that James married a second time to Lucinda MENZIES, by whom he had at least four children.

James married a third time on 21 JUN 1836 in Monroe County, Georgia [2], to Mrs. Nancy (UNKNOWN) GORDON, a widow, b. 1800-10 (no known issue by ANTHONY).

James passed away 10 Mar 1853.[3] BURIAL PLACE NOT DETERMINED, but possibly buried in Monroe County, Georgia, where he died. But possibly a non-cemeterial burial.
