Ernest was born on 22 November 1899 in Sedro Wooley, Wa, USA. He was the son of John Antle and Frances Maude (Mutch) Antle.[1]
Ernest was baptised on 12 December 1899 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Vancouver, BC, Canada. he was the first child christened in Holy Trinity church in Vancouver. His father, the Rev. John Antle, was the minister there.[2]
When Ernest was 23 he married Janet Dewar Thornicroft on 12 September 1923 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[3]
After working in the forests of BC as a young man and feeding his family on the spoils of the hunt (deer, duck, etc), he later started Antle Scaling and Grading, a company that flew to the log booms along the coast to determine the boom's $ value. He remembered fondly his childhood visits with his beloved grandfather Solomon Mutch who had a farm in Mt. Pleasant (early Vancouver) where he raised race horses. He was the Executive VP of COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association). He and Janet traveled extensively by plane across Canada and down through Mexico. He and Luke lived in Ottawa and also traveled extensively in the plane. Once Ernie and Luke landed in a small town in Mexico and she got out of the plane wearing pants - quite an uncommon site in those parts! Ernie visited PEI in his plane and there he met J. Robert Mutch who wrote the Mutch family history book.
Ernest died at the age of 87 on 3 November 1987 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[1]
Ernest and Janet had been good friends with Len and Luc d'Easum since the days in Ocean Falls (1920's). After Len had died and Janet had died, Ernest and Luc got married in 1966.
Ernest was buried on 5 November 1987 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[1]
