Biography
Alice Antrobus was born in Poulton in 1852.[1] She was still living in Poulton when she was aged 10. [2]
On 4 September 1870, aged 19 she married John Britch a blacksmith. They married at Padgate. [3]
Initially they lived in Padgate where their first child was born before moving to Winwick where they lived next to the Swan Inn. In total the couple had 6 children but only three of them survived beyond 4 months.
She died in January 1881 almost certainly due to complications with the birth of her last child Maria. [4] and was buried on 26 Jan 1881 at St. Oswald's Church, Winwick [5]
