William the fifth son married Margaret (b Hengae), daughter and heiress of Lewis Owen of Waen Leveney, Hendremur and Hengae in Cwm Llyfen and Annes Ferch John
They had one son, from whom are said to descend the Anwyl-Passingham family of Bala;
Educated at Shrewsbury school, and entered twice with his brothers Edward and Evan, on 20 Feb. 1620-1 and 1 June 1622.
In 1636 he was taxed 4s. for ship-money on an assessment of 20s. upon lands in Tal-y-llyn.
He occurs as plaintiff in pleas of debt against Edward Nanney of Cerrig-y-velyn, Llanfihangel-y-pennant in 1635, and against his father and others for £280 in 1641. In 1662-3 and 1665 he was taxed on three hearths in Tal-y-llyn and one in Camlan, and 8s. on an assessment of 20s. in 1663-4, upon lands for two parts of the subsidy. Either he or his son of the same name was a Commissioner in cases pending at the Merioneth Sessions in 1681.
He was living in 1684 when he was a beneficiary in the will Richard Anwyl Dated 26 Apr 1684 Proved : 24 Jun 1686[1]
