"Mores ap John Howell" was a churchwarden of the parish of Llangollen, Denbighshire, in 1619.[2]
He married Jane, only daughter and heir of "Llywelyn ab ... of Cae Mor in Hafod Gynfor."[1]
His children included:
Edward ap Moris, also known as Edward Moris or Edward ap Maurice[1][3]
Mary ferch Moris, the wife of Rhys Thomas, also described as Rhys Pryse, of Glyn Ceiriog[4][3]
Thomas, an illegitimate son, baptised 3 Oct 1621, Oswestry, Shropshire - "Thomas the base sonne of Moris ap John Wynne ap Howell ap Atha by the body of Katherine the doughter of Thomas Muckletson corser"[5]
He died in about 1656. He made a will of 26 August 1654, describing him as "Moris ap John Howell gentellman of Havodgynfwr in the parish of Llangollen ... in the County of Denbigh".[3] His will refers to:
his son Edward Moris - "Edward Moris my sone and heire" and "Edward ap Moris my sone"
His will was proved at London on 16 February 1655/6 by Edward Moris and Rees Thomas, the joint executors.[3]

Research Notes
In 1639, Edward ap Moris, gent, of Nantgwryd, Denbighshire. was a party to a marriage settlement between Rees ap Thomas, gent, of Crogenwladys, and John ap Edward ap Griffith, gent, of Ruabon. The settlement was in anticipation of the marriage of Robert Price, son of Rees ap Thomas, and Rose Jones, daughter of John ap Edward, and involved lands in Crogen Wladys, Kilkwchwyn, Ruabon, Denynlley, Erowallo and Havodgynvor, all in Denbighshire, and Measbury, Shropshire.[6]
