Biography

Frederick was born in Germany. He was likely the son of Christoph Appenzeller and Caroline Friedrike Scheuffeln. There is a record for a Frederich Karl Heinrich Appenzeller born to them on 06 Jan 1841 in Canstatt, Wurttemberg, Germany.[1] This is consistent with his 1900 record which shows that he was either born in "Jan" or "Jun" of 1841.

During the Civil War, he served as a sargeant in Company A of the 184th New York Infantry, Union side.[2]

He married Amelia Lucretia Loomis about 1865. They had three children.

They were living with Amelia's parents in Schroeppel, Oswego, New York in 1865.[3]

They were in Volney, Oswego, New York in 1870.[4]

In 1890, he received a pension for his Civil War service.[5]

He was living in Leray, Jefferson, New York in 1900 and 1910.[6][7]

He passed away in Calcium, Jefferson, New York in 1915.[8]
