Biography
Family genealogy indicates that Peter is the son of James Preston Appleby, Sr. and Mary Lewis Rumph.
Peter Ridley Appleby married Martha Sarah Minus (both from South Carolina) on 3-27-1824 in Walterboro, Colleton Co., SC.
The 1850 US Census of Macon Co., Alabama shows Martha-40 SC and husband, Peter-50 SC, with children: William-20 SC, Franklin-11 SC, David-11 AL. Augustus-9 AL, (daughter)-8 AL, George-4 AL.[1]
