Jean was born in 1911, the daughter of Percy William Appleby and Emily Elizabeth (Colley). Jean's birth was registered in District of Bathurst NSW[1]
She married Sam Spencer Anderson in 1933 in Bathurst, New South Wales[2]

An interesting and pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Barnabas' Church, South Bathurst, on Saturday night, when the Vicar-General of the Bathurst Diocese (the Ven. Archdeacon Howell) joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, Jean, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perce Appleby, of Queen Street, South Bathurst, and Sam, the second youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Samuel Anderson, of Coff's Harbor, North Coast, and a well known and popular Bathurst Police officer.[3]

Jean and Sam had 4 children - Jeanette, Bruce, Marjorie and Colleen
Jean died in 1994 and is buried in the Tumut New Cemetery, New South Wales[5]
