On 7 Jun 1742 Robert Applegarth, of Stockley, born 2-May 1742, son of Robert Applegarth by his wife Ann was baptised at Brancepeth, St Brandon. Godparents or Sponsors: George Welford; George Parkin; Mary Johnson [1]
On 9 May 1765 Robert Applegarth (of Staindrop, wagonman, widower) obtained a licence to marry Elizabeth Brownless (of Cockfield, age 30), directed to Cockfield. Surety: Leonard Foxcroft, skinner [spinner?], of Gilesgate, Durham City [Note: married 16 May at Cockfield.] [2]
1798 Land tax redemption of Redworth, Ferryhill for Crosier Surtees. Likely to have leased Farnless Farm at this time.
