Biography

Hazelton was born about 1845 to George Applegate and his wife, Margaret McClusky. His siblings are Alice, Caroline, Francis M, William M, Nelson B, Hamilton ^[1], John ^[2], and James L ^[3].

Hazleton served as a private in Company E of the 8th Regiment of Iowa Infantry during the War of the Rebellion ^[4] Hazelton enlisted 1864 September thirtieth and mustered in as a private in Company E of the 8th Iowa Infantry. He mustered out 1865 July twenty-first.

Hazelton was married 1870 May twenty-sixth in Silver Creek, Cass County, Michigan, to Mary Helen Calrk ^[5].
