Philip was born in 1845. He is the son of Philip Appleman and Mary Davis. He passed away in 1918. He is buried in the Martin Cemetery, Alma, Marion County, Illinois, USA.[1]

Philip was a farmer and then a hotelkeeper.

Philip married Sarah Jane Kline on 28 September 1867, in Pine Township, Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters.
