Elizabeth Appleton was born in Yorkshire, England.
Elizabeth was born in Eston, Yorkshire 9 June 1800 & baptised Elizabeth Appleton, the natural daughter of Eleanor Appleton17 July 1800 Eston, Yorkshire. [1]
Her father was not named. Date of birth was given as 9 June Elizabeth's mother married Thomas BURNETT, of Husthwaite, in Dec 1801. It is possible that the Elizabeth BURNETT, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor BURNETT, baptised at Husthwaite in 1813, was this same Elizabeth APPLETON. The second baptism may have been a formal recognition of her 'adoption' by Thomas BURNETT.
