When Mary was about 23 she married Edward Standard Gleave on 30 October 1888 in Warrington. ^[3] The couple had at least 5 children.

In 1911 Mary was living with her husband and 5 children in Padgate Lane, Warrington. Her husband was a labourer in a wire works. ^[4]
