William G. Appleton, son of Samuel Gilman Appleton and Sarah (Gardiner) Appleton, was born in April 1843 in New York. He appeared on the census of 1860 in the home of his parents at West Farms, Westchester County, New York.[1]
He married Catharine Ritter, daughter of Washington Ritter and Mary (Post) Ritter, on 5 Oct. 1870 at Manhattan, New York.[2]
He and Catharine appeared on the census of 8 June 1900 at Bronx, New York, New York.[3] He and Catharine appeared on the census of 18 April 1910 at Brooklyn, Kings, New York.[4]
