Biography

Thomas was born in 1615. He was the son of John Applewaithe and Lydia Rivers. He wrote his will 10 Dec 1674 as Thomas Applewhaite of Barbados, mentioned his wife Mary, his daughter Margarett, grandson Philip Kirton, and son Henry (all my estate). He specified if Henry died without issue that Margarett would be next in line, and "failing her to my daughter Mary Kirton...and then to my loving cousin Henry Applewhaite now resident in Virginia." His son Henry was to be sole executor. The will was proved 19 March 1678.[1] Mr. Thomas Applewhaite [in] church (burial), 16 Octr. 1677.[2]

On 7 Dec 1659 Thomas Pead and Thomas Applewhaite of Barbados entered into an agreement that all the estate in Barbados belonging to them in partnership "shall be deemed to be held in tenancy in common..." which indicates the close business partnership between himself and his father-in-law.[3]
