St. Elizabeth of Aragón


Saint Elizabeth of Aragón was queen consort of Portugal, a tertiary of the Franciscan Order and a saint of the Roman Catholic Church. She was named after her grand-aunt Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. Her siblings included, King Alfonso III of Aragón, King James II of Aragon and King Frederick III of Sicily.

She was beatified in 1526 and canonized by Pope Urban VIII on 25 May 1625.
