Biography

Ellen was born in Newport, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised nearby in Eastrington in 1829. She was the daughter of Thomas Aram and his wife Ann.^[1]

At the time of the 1851 census Ellen worked as a domestic servant for the Bell family at Cavill Hall near Eastrington.^[2]
