Robert, better known as Bob, was born in 1919 while his parents, Leo Arany and Thelma Waddington lived in Bronyx, New York.
Bob died in 2007. He was survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary K. "Kitty" Arany, Hendersonville; two sons, Thomas R. Arany, Hendersonville; and Larry B. Arany, Riverside Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Chapman, Toms River, N.J.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; a nephew; and a niece.
A funeral service was held at noon Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in the Chapel of Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, N.C. Pastor Jim Hakes. Shuler Funeral Home of Hendersonville, N.C., assisted the family.
