Myrna, her youngest daughter, said that Leona and her sisters were all teachers. Leona and her husband spent most of their married life on the West Coast.
Leona supposedly died of sleeping sickness, aged 34. (There was a pandemic of encephalitis lethargica associated with the 1918 flu pandemic.)
Buried in the Arasmith family plot at Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, Phillips County, Kansas.
Her parents and siblings maintained no contact with her youngest child, Myrna, who was raised near Norton, Kansas, by Harold's sister, Loretta Pearson and Loretta's husband, Leonard Kendall.
Four children: Audrey, the eldest; Paul and Paula, twins; Myrna, the youngest.
