She married John Alves Arbuthnot (son of Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. and Anne Alves) on 2 June 1832 at Marylebone, London, England.[2]
They went on to have about 13 children.

Mary died on 30 March 1859 at the age of 46.[3] Her portrait is at Warthill.
