She drowned in the Gunbower Creek (which breaks away from the Murray River in Koondrook, Victoria, Australia) on 26 December 1899 at the age of 11. She was swimming with her brother Frank when she got out of her depth and sank to the bottom in about 6 feet of water. Sadly Frank was too young to save her.
