Alexander was born in 1923. He was the son of Charles Dobbin Arbuthnot and Runa Boyles.
He lived with his parents and siblings in Leadsville, Randolph, West Virginia, United States.
Alexander married Mary Helen Hensil (daughter of Harry Hensil and Georgie Wagner) on 20 September 1945 in Elkins, West Virginia.[1]
They had two sons (one of whom died in infancy).
His wife died in 2000 and his surviving son Roger in 2004.
Alexander died in 2010 at the age of 87.[2] He had Alzheimer's disease.
