Laura Blanche Arbuthnot was born 29 May 1888. She was the daughter of John M. Arbuthnot and Alice V. Long Arbuthnot of Wheeling, Ohio, W. Va., later of East Liverpool, Columbiana, Ohio.[1][2]

Apparently Blanche was deeply estranged from her ex-husband when he married a second time in 1924 as he claimed on his marriage record he had never been married. It is not clear, then, if he had any part in raising his children afterward.
