Anna Marie Koski 1951 -2014
Anna Marie was born in Los Angles, California on December 9, 1951to Emma (Contreras) and Enrique Arce. She married David Koski in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 28, 1972 and the couple enjoyed forty-two years of marriage.
During her life, Anna Marie lived in Pico Rivera, California; Springfield, Oregon and White Salmon, Washington. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Lane Community College and though she worked several clerical and secretarial positions, Mrs. Koski's passion was serving senior citizens. Anna Marie finished her career working as a case worker for the Lane Council of Governments Senior & Disabled Services in Eugene, Oregon. She loved this job and did her best to bring all she had to work each day; yet, she came home every night feeling as though she had received more than she had given. She felt truly blessed to work with such wonderful people.
Mrs Koski had an incredible heart of service for the less fortunate that allowed her to recognize needs that many of us missed or chose to ignore. Anna Marie's compassion was action-oreiented, as once she identified a need she would work tirelessly until it had been addressed. While Anna Marie preferred to work behind the scenes in these situations, she was often the first to make a personal connection, engage in a conversation or offering a hut to those most of us would avoid.
Anna Marie's life revolved around her family. She was a supportive wife and devoted mother whose beliefs were unwavering and her love unconditional. She had a positive, optimistic outlook on life and had a wonderful, infectious laugh that was easy to pick out in a room full of people.
Mrs. Koski passed away at her home in White Salmon on January 12, 2014 at the age of 62. She will be greatly missed by her husband David Koski of White Salmon, Washington; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Esther Koski of Battle Ground, Washington and son Christopher Koski of Portland, Oregon; sister Christina Saucedo of Pico Rivera, California; brothers Sam Arce of Ontario California, Richard Arce of Pico Rivera and Arthur Arce and Larry Arce both of Whittier, California. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents Enrique and Emma.
A celebration of her life will be held at The Country Inn, 4100 County Farm Road, Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice of the Gorge, 1630 Woods Court, Hood River, OR 97031. Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon handled cremation arrangements.
