Lewis was born in 1874 to Jaques Cyprien and Mary (Delaunis) Archambault. Louis Archambault and Alice M Whitener were married 14 Mar 1905. He passed away in 1950. They had 2 daughters: Frances Grace (Archambault) Simmons (1907-1998) & Bernice Ida (Archambault) Cornett (1908-1996).

I Lewis P Archambault am an Indian of quarter-blood, and was born on San Juan Island, San Juan County, a territory, now the state of Washington, born on 30 May 1874.
My father was James Archambault a white man, born in Quebec, Canada. He came to this Puget Sound country in 1862. He met and married my mother in March 1863 by Rev Murdoch on San Juan Island. He was a farmer by occupation. He died July 1901. My mother is an Indian of the half-blood, born on the Cowlitz Prairie, Cowlitz County, Washington on 7 May 1849. Her maiden name was Mary Delaunis and her mother was an Indian of the full blood and a member of the Cowlitz Tribe of Indians. She was born in 1832 and died in 1852. Her maiden name was Mary Quatanna. She married John Delaunis, a white man, born in Quebec, Canada in 1864. To this union two daughters were born. Mary Delaunis (now Archambault) and Adelaide Delaunis (now Smith). My mother's grand parents was Chief Elias and Chookpie Quatanna both belonging to the Cowlitz Tribe of Indians.
To my father and mother fifteen children was born, names as follows: John; Celestie (now deceased); Peter; Joseph (now deceased); Alice; Elizabeth; James; Lewis; Matilda; Annie (now deceased); Blanche; Lucretia; Fred; Willie; Clarence (now deceased).
I certify that I married Miss Alice Whitener on 15 Mar 1905. By Rev Wm J Sharp. She was an Indian of the half-blood and she was born on Blakely Island in 1881 in San Juan County, WA. To this union was born: Frances Archambault 10 Jan 1907 and Bernie Archambault 22 Jul 1908. I certify that I never had a government homestead or Indian allotment of any kind and now therefor petition you for enrollment for myself and my family on the Cowlitz Indian Reservation.
