Biography

James Archdeacon in Gulgong, NSW married Sarah Gaffney^[1]

James died 1920, it was noted that on his daughters marriage announcement that both parents were deceased in 1921.^[2]

James was a publican and transferred his license to his wife in 1896^[3]

James also was a councilor as seen in the death report of his wife Sarah. The many friends of Mr. James Archdeacon, who for several years represented seated the North Ward in the Riichmond Council, will regret to hear of the death of his wife ,Mrs. Sarah Archdeacon, which took place at "Farrendoyle," Bridge-street, Northcote, on August 1. at the age of 67 years. In addition m her husband, the deceased lady leaves a grown-up family. She was buried privately at the Boroondara Cemetery.^[4]

James died 16 September 1920 , a month following his wife. He was 78 years of age. ^[5]Probate was granted on 27 November 1920 ^[6]
