Information available does not support that Richard and Mary (Bull) Archer had a son named George at all. Therefore, I intend to detach the profile for George Archer-161 from them.

"It's hard to believe" because it has no record of fact. The first Archer on record to this family is George Archer. Southside Virginia Genealogies CD, 4,040 pages, John W Pritchett. He is most certainly not descended in any paper record as the grandson of a knight as reported here.
George Archer is the father of Ann Archer who married William Walthall

"I was a servant for Francis Epes who paid my passage to Virginia before 26 August 1635.
In 1655 the governor granted me 500 acres near present-day Colonial Heights where I established my home, “Archer’s Hall.” I added to my plantation with grants of 250 acres in 1663, 784 acres in 1671, and 1,393 acres in 1673. Thomas Mudgett sold me 125 acres next to land I already owned on the Appomattox River 22 October 1663.
Mary and I were the parents of 2 sons and at least three daughters.
I was dying when I made my will 24 November 1675 and was dead by 16 March 1675/6 when Henrico County granted our son George administration of my estate. Unfortunately, the will no longer remains.
My widow married Joseph Royall II (1646 -1732) who became the guardian of my children.

Many of my ancestors here at wikitree are found in: Ancestors' of Colonial Wars, XVII Century Colonial Dames, Daughters' of the American Revolution, Sons' of the American Revolution, &c. I'm not a member of any of these organisations, but I adhere to their mission to respectfully represent their ancestors histories, Ancestry.com is too frequently found here as sources devoid of any facts. The more devoid of facts, it seems, the greater the number of family-trees that are referenced as sources. It is quite depressing at times to find knowledge corrupted in so thoughtless a manner.
Seventeenth Century Colonial Ancestors - National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, 1915-1975, Mary Louise Marshall Hutton, Re-print Genealogical Publishing Company, 1987, ISBN: 0-8063-1025-1. George Archer, page 8.
Other than familysearch and most genealogy websites I've not found any records to support this claim, or even his existence. Records of the Walthall Family genealogy, Louise Walthall Horton; Southside Virginia Genealogies, John W. Pritchett, assert Anne Archer as daughter of George Archer. There's been no response to my inquiries and I'm serving notice to cut Richard from my tree.
