Biography

Mary was born in 1869. She was the daughter of Moroni Archer and Helen Emory Grinnell. She passed away in 1960. She was raised by her grandmother Caroline Amelia Gaylord Grinnell in Americus Lyon< Kansas after her parents had died. She and her cousin Daniel Erastus Archer eloped to Davis County, Iowa and Iowa Marriage records show they were married there in 1884. However, Her brother Horace Alfred Archer and his son Harvey went to Iowa and brought her back to Kansas. Apparently the marriage was annulled. There is no record of the annulment. However it is very possible there was an annulment as Daniel Erastus Archer was still legally married to Harriet Morehouse.
