Biography

Anne Charlotte (known as Annie) Archer was born in about 1864 at Banbury in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of William Archer and his wife Elizabeth, born Elizabeth Bagnell. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]}

She was baptised (as Ann Charlotte) on 11 March 1864, when her father's occupation was given as "Colour Sergeant, Rifle Brigade", and their abode as Calthorpe Lane ^[2] Her father had in fact died in January.

In 1871 Annie Archer was living Calthrope Street in a household that included her remarried mother and step-father (Elizabeth and Owen Golder), their two children, and her uncle George Bagnell, as well as a family named Claridge who are described as relatives. Annie's age was given as 7, implying a birth date in 1863 or 1864. Her birthplace was given as Banbury, Oxfordshire. She was described,like her mother, as an annuitant. [Perhaps she received a pension in respect of her deceased father.] ^[3]

William Joseph Goss and Annie Charlotte Archer were married in Warwickshire in 1887. ^{[4] [6]}

In 1891 Annie C. Goss was living at 2 Packington Place in Leamington in Warwickshire with her husband William F. and their children. Her age was given as 27, implying a birth date in 1863 or 1864. Her birthplace was given as Banbury, Oxfordshire. ^[5]

In 1911 Annie C. Goss was living at 3 Drummond Street in Leamington with her husband William J. and their children. Her age was given as 46, implying a birth date in 1864 or 1865. Her birthplace was given as Banbury, Oxfordshire. It was stated that William and Annie had been married for 23 complete years and had had 7 children together, of whom 1 had died. ^[6]
