James was born in 1855.
James Archer married Mary Shepherd in 1876 in Mansfield [1].
In 1881 James was a coal miner living at 9, Harrisons Yard, Radford, Nottingham with his wife Mary and two sons [2].
In 1891 he was recorded as being Joseph instead of James and was a collier living at Albert Street, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire with wife Mary and 7 children [3].
